FAQ’s
-
SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) measures the efficiency of an air conditioning system. A higher SEER rating means better energy efficiency. As of 2023, the minimum SEER rating for new systems is 14 in northern states and 15 in southern states.

The best HVAC system depends on your home size, insulation, climate, and budget. Common options include:
Central AC & Furnace – Ideal for larger homes with ductwork.
Heat Pumps – Efficient for moderate climates and provide heating & cooling.
Ductless Mini-Splits – Great for homes without ducts or for zoning.
Geothermal Systems – Highly efficient but expensive upfront.
-
Change your air filters regularly (every 1–3 months).
Use high-efficiency HEPA filters.
Install an air purifier or UV light system.
Keep humidity between 30-50% with a dehumidifier or humidifier.
Clean air ducts and vents periodically.
Regularly vacuum with a HEPA-filtered vacuum.
-
The industry is shifting from R-410A refrigerant to R-454B and R-32, which have a lower Global Warming Potential (GWP). This transition helps reduce environmental impact and aligns with EPA regulations. R-410A will be phased out starting in 2025, so newer systems will use eco-friendly refrigerants. If your current system is using R-22, there are alternative refrigerants still available.

Carbon monoxide (CO) can build up due to:
A cracked or malfunctioning furnace heat exchanger.
Blocked or leaking vents and chimneys.
Poorly maintained gas appliances.
Running a car in an attached garage.
Using unvented space heaters or generators indoors.
-
Leave immediately and do not turn on lights or use electrical devices.
Do not use your phone inside the house.
Call 911 or your gas company from a safe distance.
Do not return until professionals declare it safe.
-
